A Lolita blouse should let you breathe, sit and reach without forcing the fastening or pulling the sleeves into place. Check the shoulders, bust and upper arms before judging the collar under a JSK. Compare the exact listing's measurements, then test the blouse on its own before adding the dress.

Start with the shoulders
Put on the blouse over the undergarments you plan to wear. Fasten it normally, let your arms rest and check the back as well as the front. For a cut with conventional shoulder seams, notice where those seams sit relative to your shoulders. A gathered sleeve can make that position harder to see.
Reach forward as if taking something from a table. If the back pulls or the neckline shifts uncomfortably, note where the restriction begins. Return your arms to your sides and see whether the blouse settles without adjustment. Avoid deciding from the standing front view alone.
Before ordering, compare the listed shoulder width with your own measurement taken by the same method. The Lolita size-chart guide explains the measurement labels. A larger bust figure does not establish that the shoulder will work.
Check the bust and fastening while seated
On a blouse with a working button front, inspect the spaces between the buttons while standing and sitting. Look for pulling across the chest, openings between buttons or a front panel that you keep smoothing back into place. These observations deserve another look at the fit, but they do not identify the cause on their own.
Take a normal breath, reach forward gently and relax again. You should not have to hold your posture rigidly to keep the front closed. If the blouse only feels comfortable with a fastening left open, check whether that is how you actually intend to wear it.
Do not turn a published bust number into a guaranteed body maximum. Confirm what the chart measures first. Also check the closure description: the June Snow listing calls its buttons decorative, so their appearance does not establish how the blouse fastens.
Two size M charts, different measurements
The ZhiJinYuan June Snow apricot blouse has a ruffled collar and bib front, puffed short sleeves and lace cuffs. The Dimeng Fenshi doll-collar blouse has a button front, gathered leg-of-mutton sleeves and elasticated cuffs.
These are the values listed in each product's size M row, in centimetres. On a small screen, scroll the table sideways to see every column.

The same M label gives different bust and shoulder figures. Neither row tells you which blouse will feel better on your body.
Dimeng Fenshi explicitly identifies its chart as flat garment measurements and allows 1 to 2 cm for manual measurement variation. June Snow's chart names the measurement columns without explicitly identifying the bust as a body recommendation or finished-garment measurement. Ask for that distinction if it affects your size choice. Do not double a published bust value simply because a listing mentions flat measurement.
Separate sleeve volume from upper-arm room
Puffed and leg-of-mutton sleeves describe a visible shape. They do not tell you the circumference available around your upper arm. Neither of these product charts supplies upper-arm or armhole measurements, despite listing sleeve length.
During a fitting, bend your elbow and reach forward without forcing the movement. Check where you feel pressure: around the upper arm, at the underarm opening or across the back. Notice whether the sleeve moves freely or pulls the blouse upward with it.
If upper-arm room often decides whether you can wear a blouse, request that measurement before ordering. Ask how the shop took it and whether lining or a fixed seam limits the same area. A photograph of a full sleeve cannot answer those questions.
Check the cuff separately
Dimeng Fenshi's elasticated cuffs are documented, but the listing gives no relaxed or stretched cuff measurement. Cuff elasticity does not establish stretch elsewhere in the sleeve. June Snow has lace cuffs; the description does not say they are elasticated.
Dimeng Fenshi also offers standard and fleece-lined options under one shared chart. The listing provides no separate measurements for the lined versions. If your fit is close, confirm the selected version with the shop rather than assuming identical internal room or automatically choosing a larger size.
Put the JSK on last
Once the blouse feels workable on its own, add the JSK and repeat the seated and reaching checks. Compare the result with the blouse-only fitting. Notice whether the dress catches the sleeve at the armhole, compresses the blouse front or leaves fabric bunched beneath the bodice.

Before choosing a size
- Confirm the exact blouse and lined or unlined option.
- Read the shoulder and bust columns independently.
- Ask what any unclear measurement represents.
- Request missing upper-arm, armhole or cuff figures when they could decide the fit.
- Check movement in the blouse alone, then with the JSK.
